Potential – showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future

  1. Everybody Has Potential.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT), For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

  • Poiema (Greek) – a work, workmanship, or a thing that is made

Potential Is a Process Not a Place.

Philippians 3:12-14, 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Potential Is Attached to Purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT), For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Proverbs 19:21 (ESV), Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Practical Steps to Living in Potential

  1. Daily Word and Prayer

Psalm 119:105, Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

  1. Set Goals (Write It Down)

Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV), And the Lord answered me: Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.

  1. Make Room (Focus on The Right Things)

Matthew 6:24 (ESV), No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Questions:

  1. What did you hear from the Holy Spirit?
  2. What will you do because of it?
  3. How can we pray for you?
