Luke 19:45-46, 45 When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. 46 “It is written,” he said to them, “My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.”
- According to bible Gateway – God has made us 5,467 promises in scripture.
1 John 5:14-15, 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
- The first stage of answered prayer involves aligning our emotions and expectations with God’s presence within us.
Psalm 56:2-4, 2 My adversaries pursue me all day long; in their pride many are attacking me. 3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4 In God, whose Word I praise . . .
Avoiding Wrong Sources of Confidence
Philippians 3:3-6, 3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4 though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.
- People who experience God’s power in prayer live in blessing produced by God’s strength not just their own.
Accessing God’s Power with Confidence
- God is ALWAYS FOR ME.
Romans 8:28, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
2. God will ALWAYS HELP ME.
Psalm 46:1, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Timothy 4:18, The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom . . .
Hebrews 13:5-8, 5 . . . because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
3. God is ALWAYS WITH ME.
Deuteronomy 31:8, The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Joshua 1:3,5, 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Hosea 2:15, There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope . . .
