1. Accountability
  • Accountable – required or expected to justify actions or decisions; responsible

Daniel 5:22, But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this.

2 Peter 2:21, It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

Matthew 7:24-25, 24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.

2. Humility

Daniel 5:22, But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this.

Matthew 23:12, For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

3. Sanctity

  • Sanctity – the state or quality of being holy, sacred, or saintly

Daniel 5:23, Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them . . .

1 Corinthians 6:19, Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

Romans 12:1, Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

4. Faithfulness

Daniel 5:23, . . . You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

Exodus 20:3, You shall have no other gods before me.

Matthew 6:19-21, 19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:33, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
