• Prayer creates space for God’s presence and influence to work in our lives.

Romans 8:28 (NLT), And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

  • “Never Stop Praying” is not about us doing more but connecting more with God.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT), 16 Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

  • We need to move from a “Got-to-pray” to a “Get-to-pray” to a “Go-pray” mentality.

FOUR TRUTHS ABOUT “NEVER STOP PRAYING”

  1. Cultivating a lifestyle of connection with God.

Cultivate means intentionally creating an environment through our beliefs and behaviors where growth occurs. It is based on:

  1. Trust — I can count on God.
  2. Presence -– He is Immanuel, God with us. (Romans 8:31-39)
  3. Obedience -– I will follow Him fully. (2 Peter 1:3-11)
  • A prayerful attitude is not a substitute for regular times of prayer; it is an outgrowth of those times.

Daniel 6:10 (NASB), Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.

2. Cooperating with the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:26-28 (MSG), Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside, helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs and our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

3. Praying repeatedly and often.

Ephesians 6:18 (NLT), Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Romans 1:9 (NLT), God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.

4. Not giving up on prayer.

Luke 18:1 (NLT), One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

Psalm 27:13-14 (NLT), 13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. 14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

  • Connecting with God through prayer infuses situations with hope, grace, and His possibilities.
