House of Palms, Victoria

On average, 50 teenage students within our school districts become pregnant every year. Many of these girls face circumstances that cause their focus to be on survival, so education is NOT their primary concern. Of these, approximately 25 will become homeless. Those who want to support their babies often quit school
and go to work at a minimum wage job. Statistics show 62% will NOT complete their high school education.

Mission Statement

We are a 24/7 residential program that instills faith-based confidence and vision for expectant teen mothers. Our program provides the academic and life skills training, encouragement, and physical support they need to move them from instability to stability, and become productive members of the community.

Vision Statement

To be a loving, nurturing, innovative, best-practices faith community that promotes life, breaks the cycle of teen pregnancy, and encourages godly vision in the “NEXTGEN” and “GEN AFTER NEXT.”

Who we serve..

We designed our program to accommodate up to 10 high school juniors or seniors from Victoria Independent School District and surrounding counties who can commit to a faith-based program of self-improvement, self-sustainment, and the protection of the most vulnerable in our society--their babies. We select our young mothers by how well they exemplify honesty, respect, and a willing heart.

How we serve...

According to experts who work with these teen moms, the most important thing we can do to improve their chance of success is to provide a "normal" household. Our newly remodeled property in Victoria, TX, will be the physical location for the House of Palms-Victoria. There we will provide a "normal" environment for these young mothers so they can complete their work for a high-school diploma. We are prepared to continue our assistance provided these young women are accepted into, and maintain full-time status in Victoria College, the University of Houston-Victoria, or any one of several internship programs with local area partner.
