The Big Idea: As Jesus was dedicated to God, we must also dedicate ourselves to doing God’s will every day.

Luke 2:21-22 (ESV)
And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.

Luke 2:22
was used in Romans 12:1 (NKJV) where he wrote that all Christians are “present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

Romans 12:1 (ESV)
I appeal to you therefore brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

1.The dedication of our body to be a living sacrifice.

“Such a living sacrifice occurs when you bow your will, dethrone self, enthrone Jesus by choosing to submit to his lordship, and chose to obediently live to fulfill His will and commandments.”
Pastor Rick Renner

1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and you are not your own.

James 4:7 (KJV)
Submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

2. The dedication of our mind.

Deuteronomy 6:5 (ESV)
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul (mind, will, emotions) and with all your might.

Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)
For as he (man) thinks in his heart, so is he.

3. The dedication of our emotions.

Proverbs 25:28 (KJV)
Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.

Philippians 3:10 (ESV)
that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.”
